JT leRoy

Guardian has a really interesting interview with JT LeRoy (link above). His official story is that he is a rent boy turned writer, now the darling of NY and Hollywood circles (at least those who can read). Now, the question is whether it has all been an elaborate hoax, that JT LeRoy is a collective of writers, much like this blog i guess. I wish the library here would bring his books in, but maybe they are too edgy.

I just finished another book, Carter Beats The Devil, by Glen David Gold. Gold, incidentally, is Alice Sebold's husband (she wrote the lovely bones). It is another book about magicians, but a nice epic romantic story this time. It has breathtaking descriptions of magic shows in the 20s, accusations that a magician has murdered the president, rivals, lovers etc. If you liked Tim Burton's Big Fish, you'll definitely like this book. It is brimming with a sense of wonder.
